The metro Atlanta area continues to experience record
growth in new home construction. As with a resale home, new homes should be
inspected by a qualified home inspector.
The inspection of new homes poses a unique challenge.
With rare exceptions new homes have not been around long enough for problems
to develop. The house has no “performance history”. Without a performance history houses can only be judged
against an accepted standard for quality construction. The standard for
quality construction is the International Code Councils (ICC) International
Residential Code (IRC), commonly referred to as the CABO One & Two Family
Dwelling Code. Builder compliance with this code has been the law in
Georgia since 1991.
Due to record levels of construction, county and
municipal inspectors do not have the time to enforce all aspects of this
code.
All of
our inspectors are certified by the ICC as One &
Two Family Dwelling inspectors and are qualified to judge code compliance.

after the house is completed or several inspections at different stages of
