billWilliam “Bill” Garwood

Prior to becoming a home inspector, Bill owned and operated a construction company for 15 years. The combination gives him over 30 years of experience with residential and light commercial buildings. He has provided expert witness testimony in construction litigation cases and has been an inspector for the Residential Warranty Corporation and Homebuyers 2-10 warranty corp. In addition to home inspections, Bill has been training home inspectors and teaching building code to inspectors and builders in the Atlanta area since 1993. You may have seen Bill’s column, “Ask The Inspector” in the Atlanta Journal Constitution. 

Bill has a Bachelors degree from Rollins College and a Masters degree from Emory University.

jeff nicholsJeff Nichols

Prior to becoming a home inspector, Jeff had a professional career in business with leadership positions in both large and small companies in the high-tech manufacturing sector. He has also been a college instructor in the School of Business. Jeff started his home inspection business in 1993. In 1994 he and Bill Garwood were founding members in what would become Edifice Training and Development, Inc. providing training classes for the inspection and building community. The company is also licensed through the Georgia Association of Realtors to provide classes to real estate agents.

Jeff holds an MBA from the University of Maine, is certified as a Radon Inspector, a Level 1 Infrared Thermographer and certified to provide Neighborhood Environmental Reports (NER)

Prior to becoming a full time home inspector in 2001, Charles owned and operated a residential real estate company for more than five years, purchasing, repairing and selling distressed homes in metro Atlanta. Charles has been a valuable member of the Edifice team since 2004 and brings his unique skills to our investor client base seeking guidance through the foreclosure and rehab phase of their investment process.

Charles is also a Level 1 infrared Thermographer.
